The tears still fall
And my heart breaks
As I feel real pain inside

Slave, always a slave
To inevitabilities and unplanned fates

Spin the thread, measure and cut
Hidden behind a veil
That fragile eyes don't want to see past
Lest a more fragile heart breaks

Our servitude is so short
But the masses are so many
That it keeps the deciders busy

And do they care, are they cruel?
Or are they indifferent, desensitised?
Are the aching hearts how they are worshipped?

I suppose it doesn't matter
It doesn't change a thing

And the tears still fall
And my heart breaks
As I feel real pain inside

Heartbeats etch in fact, no longer possible
Of chances and moments lost forever

But when we both know it's cruel
That no more is better than continuing on
We remember the moments that chance befell us;
In another time, they may not have happened

And the sun is warm, and pleasing
These are your last moments to appreciate serenity
That eases your own aches

We both know what's coming
We both know that it's for the best
Because time cannot return to us

And the tears still fall
And my heart breaks
As I feel real pain inside.

Close your eyes my love, my love
We know we love each other
And you may forgive my failing
Whether I can - that too is hidden from me

If I am away, and you pass on
If I am not there for you
Remember the time we spent in the sun
I will try to
As I remember you…

And the tears still fall
And my heart breaks
As I feel real pain inside…

I lament, I regret that we were torn apart
By the passage of time
For you were indeed torn from me
Would that I never had to say goodbye to you…
Usually I like the phrases I repeat, but not so much with this one. Still not sure about the title either, it was gonna be either "The Tears" or "The Fates" in reference to Greek mythology...may change it yet.

Hmm.... I wouldn't have put it as a reference as to Greek Mythology...

In my opinion, it sounded more like a soldiers words... A slave tot eh government, the aching regret as to why s/he is there fighting, and the pain that they have left someone/many behind.

Just my opinion :3
